We had our inaugural Portland fund raising event, “Consano: Locally Sourced” at the historic Montgomery Park building this past weekend and what a night! I am still on cloud nine. Not only did we raise double our goal ($50,000! with a goal of $25,000), but the love in the room was palpable. As most of you know, this event also doubled as the celebration for my 3-year “cancerversary” and to say it was meaningful to me on so many levels is an understatement.
The support we received from our community was overwhelming. Not only did we have five awesome sponsors, but we had 55 silent auction items donated. We had about 250 people in attendance, and that was with very little notice… we started planning this event about two and a half months ago (I know, right?!).
We had wonderful food from Bamboo Sushi, Imperial, Grüner and Trifecta Tavern, wine from Sokol Blosser, beer from Bridgeport Brewing Company, distillery tastings from New Deal & Bull Run, dessert from Salt & Straw and Food In Bloom tied everything together so wonderfully. We capped off the night with an amazing performance by Black Prairie, one of my favorite bands. And of course, we couldn’t have pulled this all together without the amazingly talented April Severson and Claire Papas of Severson Events! My heart is so full after this beautiful night!
Stay tuned for more pictures in the next week or so from the talented Jeremy Hlil. And until then, take a look at the video we showed at the event which talks about why we started Consano, what we’ve accomplished and where we are going.
Thank you for all of the support you have shown us!
